A Rajasthan Luxury Leather Maison
Handcrafted in Jodhpur by artisans who have known leather for generations. Each piece carries the memory of the desert, the precision of the craftsman, and the silence of a luxury born without compromise.
The House · The Maison · The Devotion
We do not make bags. We cultivate objects of enduring beauty — each one shaped by hands that have known leather for generations. Stitched in silence. Finished with devotion. Built to outlast everything around them. House of Bunkar is a luxury maison in the truest sense: a place where time still moves at the pace of the artisan's hand.
The Philosophy
"We believe in the intimacy of the handmade. In leather that breathes. In objects that age into something more beautiful than when they were born."
At House of Bunkar, we do not simply make bags. We cultivate objects of enduring beauty — each one shaped by hands that have known leather for generations. Each stitch a quiet act of mastery passed from artisan to artisan across the dunes of Rajasthan.
Our artisans are not employees — they are collaborators. Many have learned their craft from fathers and grandfathers. Their knowledge is irreplaceable, their patience extraordinary. Every piece passes through at least twelve sets of skilled hands before it is ready to carry the Bunkar name.
There is no shortcut in our atelier. No machine cuts what our pattern-makers cut. No algorithm selects what our leather masters select. The luxury of House of Bunkar is not a marketing position — it is the simple consequence of refusing to rush beauty.

Rajasthan Heritage
Jodhpur — the Blue City, the Sun City — has long been a crucible of craft. Its narrow lanes have echoed with the sounds of skilled hands for centuries. It is here, in the warmth of a Rajasthan atelier, that every House of Bunkar piece begins its journey.
We source the finest full-grain, vegetable-tanned leathers. We honour the old techniques. And we fuse them with a design sensibility that speaks to a global audience while remaining unmistakably, proudly Indian.
The Leather
Full-grain, vegetable-tanned hides selected by hand for character, temper, and grain. Each hide is unique — we never correct the surface, only reveal what nature intended. The leather tells its own story and we simply listen.
The Hands
Our craftspeople in Jodhpur are the living inheritance of a tradition stretching back generations. They work not by instruction, but by memory — their hands carry knowledge that no manual can contain and no machine can replicate.
The Time
Forty hours or more. Saddle-stitched by two needles — should one thread break, the other holds. A stitch that endures for decades. We make nothing at the scale that haste demands, because haste is incompatible with beauty.
The Place
Jodhpur's warmth, its colour, its ancient sense of proportion are embedded in every House of Bunkar piece. You carry Rajasthan with you wherever you go. Every piece is a geography — a quiet love letter to the Blue City.

The Atelier Process
One perfect
object.
Every piece that leaves our Jodhpur atelier has passed through the same unhurried ritual — a sequence of acts that cannot be automated, cannot be rushed, and cannot be replicated by machine. This is not craft. This is liturgy.
No shortcut exists in our atelier that we haven't already refused. We began slow, and we choose to remain so. Beauty insists on it.
Hides are hand-selected by our master for grain, temper, and feel. Only full-grain vegetable-tanned leather meets our standard. We reject more than we accept. The hide must speak to us before we begin.
Each pattern is cut by hand using traditional tools passed down through the atelier. No laser cutter. No die. The artisan reads the leather as a sculptor reads stone — following its nature, not fighting it.
Two needles. One thread. The saddle stitch is a guarantee against time. Should one thread break, the other holds. A technique unchanged for centuries. Every stitch is set by hand, and felt before it is checked.
Edges are bevelled, painted in our house colour, burnished and polished by hand. Hardware is set. A final inspection — the last pair of eyes before the piece leaves — ensures everything is worthy of the House name.
House of Bunkar — Atelier Philosophy
Luxury is not in the price. It is in the time taken, the hands involved, and the memory the object holds long after the last stitch has been set.
